How can one device offer both global coverage and work completely off-grid?

The best way to think of the POC-1 Ultra is as a hybrid device containing two separate radio technologies.

For global coverage: It has a cellular that connects to the 4G LTE network, allowing you to talk unlimited distance.
For off-grid use: It uses analog signals that transmit directly to other walkie-talkies nearby, requiring no towers or signals at all.

How do I switch modes?

It's instant and requires no menus. The POC-1 Ultra has two separate PTT (Push-to-Talk) buttons: one for LTE and one for Analog. You are always in complete control and choose the mode you need simply by pressing the corresponding button.

What is the real-world range?

LTE Mode: The range is effectively unlimited. As long as you and your group members have a cellular signal, you can talk across the city, state, or even country.
Off Grid Mode: The range depends on the terrain. In real-world wooded or mountain terrain, the typical range is around 1–3 miles. In wide open areas (flat land, water, clear line-of-sight), it can reach up to 35 miles.

Do I need to register my radio?

No. There’s no registration required. Just power on the radio, create or join a group, and it’s ready to use.

Can it talk to my other radios?

YES, absolutely.

LTE connectivity allows instant communication with any Poclink radios.
For other analog radios: the POC-1 Ultra is designed with analog frequencies and no programming required. Simply tune the radio to the same channel as your group's any other analog radio to start talking instantly.

Is the POC-1 Ultra compatible with the POC-1 Lite walkie-talkie?

Yes, absolutely. Both the POC-1 Ultra and the POC-1 Liteare built on the same Poclink Radios LTE platform, making them 100% compatible. You can add both models into the same talk groups, and users can communicate seamlessly with each other when using the LTE mode. This allows you to easily mix and match radios within your team to fit different roles or budgets.

Are there any monthly/annual fees?

For those who purchase the POC-1 Ultra, LTE service is completely FREE for the first 3 Years. You will pay $0 in fees for the first 36 months. After that, renew for just $29/year.

Please Keep Your Order ID/Receipt. You will need to provide proof of this order to verify your eligibility for the $29 renewal rate after 3 years.

Is there international/global coverage?

Yes, we offer a 3-Year Free Global Plan covering 84 countries — check the list. Unlike competitors charging $100+ annually for global plans, ours is completely free for the first 36 months.

Poclink devices work globally with no hidden fees, contracts, or subscriptions.

Do I need to contact Poclink every year to keep my SIM active?

No. You don’t need to reach out annually. Poclink will proactively contact you to confirm your device is still in active use. When it’s time, we’ll provide clear, step-by-step instructions to complete the verification process.

How can I verify my SIM card plan type and validity period?

Start by checking your invoice — it will show the SIM card plan type you purchased.
The validity period is determined based on your purchase date and the SIM’s ICCID (to be found on your physical SIM card).
If you’re not sure or just want to double-check, feel free to email us your ICCID, and our team will be happy to confirm the details for you.

Can i use the radio without app?

YES! All core communication functions—both LTE PTT and Analog PTT—work independently without the app. The app is only needed for advanced features like viewing the live GPS map, managing groups remotely, and changing advanced settings.

How do I download and use the Poclink App?

You can download the Poclink app for free from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Just search for “Poclink” or "Poclink radios".

Can I create or join multiple talk groups?

Absolutely! With Poclink, you can freely create and manage your own groups—for family, work, travel, or any situation.Each group is independent, so conversations stay organized and never interfere with one another.Unlike some other brands that start charging $10-20 or more per group after your second or third group, Poclink offers unlimited group management for free. No hidden fees, no limits—you’re in full control.

Can the POC-1 Ultra call or ring mobile phone numbers?

The POC-1 Ultra is designed for group communication, not for making regular mobile phone calls. It does not dial or ring standard mobile phone numbers.However, if both radios are connected to the Poclink app, you and your friends can communicate through the app on your smartphones within the same group. Even if you don’t have the radio with you, you can still use the app to stay connected and talk with your group.

Is an EU PMR446 version available?

Yes, we can provide an EU PMR446 version on a case-by-case basis. Please email support@poclink.com and let us know which EU country you’re located in. Our team will review the requirements and get back to you with the available options and next steps.

Who can see my GPS location?

Your privacy is critical. Your location is only shared with the members of your private, encrypted group based on your choice and is only visible on the secure map inside our app. It is never public, and you can turn off location sharing at any time.

If I am currently using another PoC radio brand, do you offer any incentives to switch to Poclink?

Yes. We offer transition incentives for customers moving from other PoC radio systems to Poclink.

2025 USAngling Youth Bass Team

The 2025 USAngling Youth Bass Fishing Team just returned from Loskop Dam, South Africa with the Gold Medal! One of the keys to our success was the ability to communicate on the water during the tournament. We utilized twenty (20) POC-1 Ultra (LTE + Analog) radios to share information over 6000 acres of water in a highland reservoir surrounded by mountains. The radios utilized a Vodacom SIM Card and seamless two-way analog communication to keep our team in touch with each other and on the fish all day long. Exceeds my expectations!

These Poclink Ultra radios are very handy communications devices. I have worked in the two-way radio field for years and have been a radio hobbyist (Amateur Radio and GMRS) for almost 50 years.
The Poclink Ultra is the perfect radio for any group or family that needs to stay connected. I have a lot of friends and family members who are not interested in Amateur Radio but still want to be able to keep in touch without the hassle of always having to fumble with their phones to call or text. We can all be together in one group or make a private radio call to one individual in the group. For outdoor adventures like geocaching or rock collecting, the analog FRS function in the Poclink Ultra can keep us connected over short distances with those who only have FRS radios.
These radios would be perfect for a small business that needs reliable communications without having to pay for phones or radio service from a company that provides radio communications equipment for a monthly fee.
At first, the cost looks a little expensive, but being able to have one to one or group conversations over long distances makes it worthwhile - especially with the lifetime service offered during the Poclink Black Friday sale.
Some of our neighbors have also purchased the Poclink Ultra after seeing how ours work.
Setup is easy. It takes a few days of use to get really familiar with using these radios but everyone I know who has the Poclink Ultra has had no problem using them. I like the fact that you can make and control your own groups and name your radios without having to contact Poclink to make changes. Overall, I'm happy with these radios and I know they will get a lot of use.

I purchased 2 radios

I purchased 2 radios. I like them. They seem to be of good quality. They remind me of my old Nextel phone with direct connect. They work well in my area of North Florida. I now wish I had purchased the 3 pack. I would recommend these as another option for emergency communication.

I have been involved with push to talk over cellular for awhile

I have been involved with push to talk over cellular for awhile.-From simple system with no configuration options, to the full Carrier grade systems with dispatch and management consoles. My experience now is a simple user configuablsystem, that has an option to still working on itwhen a cell tower is down and act as a relay is unique. A Multicarrier over LTE also has advantages. All this comes with the POC Ultra-1 demonstrated last week. Poor cell coverage area, daughter went hydroplanning on the Tamiami trail, in a very secluded area. Car span and ended up in the swamp/canal. She pulled herself up the bank with cell and POC radio.Got a 911 out but nothing else and she has a dual SIM. The POC radio worked flawlessly.I wasabout 75 Miles away. She was not hurt, but still reassuring to here her voice.
