Poclink App User Manual

0. Download

Both iOS and Android phones can scan the QR code below to get the latest version App.

1. Login

1.1 Available Login Methods

You can access your account using a few different methods, depending on your device.

On iOS:

  • Login with Apple
  • Login with Google
  • Login with Email

On Android:

  • Login with Google
  • Login with Email
❗️1.2 Critical: Choose One Method and Stick With It

Each login option creates a separate and unique account. For example, an account created using "Login with Google" is different from an account created using "Login with Email," even if both use the same email address.

To see your correct device list and history, you must always use the exact same login method every time.

How to link all methods to one account:

If you want the flexibility to use different login options (like Google, Apple, and Email) to access the same account, you must link them.

After you register for the first time, go to your Profile > Edit Profile in the app. From there, you can bind your other login methods to that single account.

1.3 Recommended Login Method: Google

We are currently fixing an issue where verification codes for the "Login with Email" option are not being delivered to some users. Our team is working on a solution.

Until this is resolved, using "Login with Google" is the most reliable way to access your account.

1.4 Before You Log In: Turn Off Your VPN

Please make sure to disable any active VPN on your phone before attempting to log in.

2. Bind Devices

2.1 Why You Must Bind Your Device

Before you can use key functions like creating groups, using PTT (Push-to-Talk) with the app, or tracking GPS locations, you must first bind your physical radio to your Poclink account.

2.2 Methods for Binding Your Device

There are two primary ways to bind your radio:

Option 1: Bind via Bluetooth Pairing

  1. On your radio, find and press the "Bind App" button on the main screen.
  2. In your App, select the "Bind via Bluetooth" option (a Bluetooth icon at the bottom).
  3. Your phone will search for the radio. Select model and then IMEI from the list to complete the pairing.

Option 2: Bind via IMEI Code

You can also bind the device using its unique IMEI code. There are two ways to enter IMEI: scan or manually input.

  1. On your radio, find and press the "Bind App" button on the main screen.
  2. Scan the QR Code: In the app, select "Scan" icon on the top left corner and then select "Scan" icon on the right of the input box, and use your phone's camera to scan the code.
  3. Manual Entry: In the app, select "Scan" icon on the top left corner and type the 15-digit IMEI code into the field.
  4. Then confirm.

❗️Attention: After you unbind/unlink the device, wait 1-2 minutes before bind it again.

3. Create/Join Groups

3.1 Creating a Group

You have several options for creating a new group.

Option 1: Create a Group Directly on the Radio

You can create groups directly on your radio without using the app. This method makes the radio itself the group owner. Please refer to your radio's user manual for specific instructions.

Option 2: Create a Group Using the App

When you use the app to create a group, you can choose who the "owner" (administrator) of the group will be. On the top left corner of the "Group" page, you can switch the device view from the dropdown list. "Profile" icon stands for App account, and "Radio" icon stands for, absolutely, your radios.

In each view, you can create, join and manage groups for that selected device or App account.

  • Make Your App Account the Owner: You can create a group where your Poclink App account is the owner. This is useful for managing the group entirely from your phone.
  • Make Your Radio the Owner: You can also create a group in the app but set one of your already-bound radios as the group owner.
3.2 Joining an Existing Group

First of all, the radio itself can join groups without needing the App. Please see the user manual.

There are two ways to join a group that someone else has created in the App:

  1. Enter the Group Code: Ask the group owner for the 6-digit group code. In the app, select the "Grid" icon on the top right corner of the "Group" page and choose "Join Group" and enter the code.
  2. Scan the Group QR Code: The group owner can also share a QR code for the group. In the app, select the "Grid" icon on the top right corner of the "Group" page and choose "Join Via QR Code".
❗️3.3 Group Code or Group QR Code Expires in 24 Hours

To keep your groups secure, all Group Codes and Group QR Codes will automatically expire after 24 hours. If your code has expired, you will need to ask the group owner to generate a new one.

4. Others

4.1 Monitoring Multiple Groups Simultaneously

This feature allows you to monitor audio from several groups at once without constantly switching among groups.

You can listen to multiple groups simultaneously, but you must still switch to a specific group in order to speak (transmit) in it.

How to Start Listening to a Group:

  1. Go to the Groups page.
  2. Find a group you have already joined that you wish to listen to.
  3. Tap the three-dot icon (...) on the right side of the group's name.
  4. In the pop-up menu, select "Listen to group voice".
  5. An ear icon will appear next to the group name, indicating that you are now monitoring it.

How to Stop Listening to a Group:

  1. Find the group you are currently monitoring (the one with the ear icon).
  2. Tap the three-dot icon (...) again.
  3. In the menu, select "Stop listening to group voice". The ear icon will disappear.
4.2 GPS Tracking

Track your devices and share your location with your team.

How to Enable GPS Tracking:

  1. Navigate to your Device List in the app.
  2. Select the device you want to track (it must be a bound device).
  3. On the device's page, find and toggle on the "Device Location".

❗️Important: Acquiring a GPS Signal

  • Your radio may not be able to receive a GPS satellite signal when indoors.
  • If your location is not updating, please take the device outside for 5-10 minutes. This will allow it to acquire a proper signal and begin reporting its location.
  • You can also see the current coordinates directly on your radio by navigating to Menu > PoC > GPS.

How to Share Your Location with a Group:

  • Once "Device Location" is active, you can also choose to enable "Share location to current group".
  • When this is turned on, all other members in your currently selected group will be able to see your location.

Setting the Reporting Interval:

  • You can adjust how often the device reports its GPS position.
  • Choose from intervals of 1, 5, or 10 minutes. (A shorter interval provides more up-to-date tracking but uses more battery).

❗️Important Tip for Battery Life:

If you do not intend to use the GPS location feature for a while, we recommend disabling "Device Location" for that device. This will significantly help in conserving battery and extending your radio's standby time.
